Our Local Honey – From Our Own Bees
We are a small, independent beekeeping business. We manage our own colonies, harvest our honey and prepare and pack it ourselves, keeping a direct connection between our apiaries and the honey in every jar. Honey is a natural product, and every harvest is different. The colour, flavour, aroma and texture can change depending on the flowers available, the weather and the time of year.
Spring Honey
Our spring honey can include nectar from spring blossom and oilseed rape (OSR). Oilseed rape honey is often light in colour, with a delicate sweetness, and naturally crystallises relatively quickly. This is a normal characteristic of this type of honey. The timing of flowering and the conditions each spring affect the character of every harvest.
Summer Honey
As summer progresses, our bees have access to a wider variety of flowering plants, including wildflowers, gardens, hedgerows and trees. This varied seasonal forage can produce honey with a different colour, flavour and texture from our spring harvest. Every batch reflects the conditions of that particular season.
Honey From Our Own Bees – Nothing Imported
We don't blend our honey with imported honey. The honey we sell is produced by our own bees and comes from our own apiaries around Almodington and the Chichester area. We extract, prepare and pack our own honey, allowing us to follow the harvest from the hive through to the finished jar. If you're looking for genuine honey from a local beekeeper, rather than an anonymous blended product, Anona Honey offers a direct connection to the bees and the landscape where our honey is produced.
