Honey From Our Own Bees

Our honey is produced by our own bees, kept in our apiaries around Almodington and the Chichester area. The bees forage naturally on the surrounding flowers, trees, hedgerows and farmland, producing honey that reflects the season and the local landscape.

Because honey is a natural product, every harvest can be different. Colour, flavour, aroma and texture can vary depending on which plants are flowering and when the honey was collected.

Spring Honey

Our spring honey can include nectar collected from spring blossom and oilseed rape (OSR).

Oilseed rape produces a light-coloured honey with a delicate, sweet flavour. It also naturally crystallises quickly, which is a normal characteristic of this type of honey.

Spring conditions and flowering times vary from year to year, so each harvest can have its own character.

Summer Honey

As the season progresses, our bees have access to a much wider variety of flowers. Summer honey can come from a diverse mix of wildflowers, gardens, hedgerows, trees and other flowering plants around our local area.

This gives summer honey a different character from the lighter spring harvests, with natural variations in colour and flavour.

Local Honey - Nothing Imported

We don't blend our honey with imported honey.

The honey we sell comes from our own bees and our own apiaries. Every jar is extracted, prepared and packed by us, giving us a clear connection between the hive, the harvest and the finished jar.

We believe local honey should be exactly that — honey produced by local bees working the local landscape.

From Hive to Jar

We handle the honey ourselves, from taking the honey from the hives through to extraction and packing.

Our honey is carefully extracted and prepared before being packed into jars for collection. We keep our production small and local, allowing us to maintain control over the honey we sell.
