About our Honey
Local Beekeeping in Almodington, West Sussex
We are a small, local beekeeping business based in Almodington, near Chichester, West Sussex, producing honey from our own bees and raising nucleus colonies for local beekeepers.
Our bees forage across the surrounding countryside, farmland, hedgerows and gardens, making the local landscape an important part of what we produce. The area around Chichester and the coastal plain offers a varied range of seasonal forage, from spring blossom and oilseed rape through to summer wildflowers and other flowering plants.
Honey From Our Own Bees
We keep our own colonies and extract and pack the honey ourselves. Because our honey comes directly from our own apiaries, we know where it has come from and can follow each harvest from the hive through to the jar.
Honey naturally changes throughout the season. Spring honey can include blossom and oilseed rape (OSR), while summer honey comes from a wider mix of flowers. This means different batches can vary naturally in colour, flavour and texture — part of what makes local seasonal honey unique.
We don't blend our honey with imported honey. When you buy from us, you're buying honey produced by bees working the local landscape around our apiaries.

About out Nucleus Colonies
Locally Raised Nucleus Colonies
Alongside honey production, we raise nucleus colonies (nucs) for beekeepers looking to start keeping bees or expand an existing apiary.
Our nucs are raised locally rather than imported. Each nucleus colony is an established group of bees containing a queen, brood and food stores, giving the beekeeper a functioning colony to develop.
We select colonies based on useful characteristics such as temperament, colony development, productivity and general performance. We know the colonies we work with because they are part of our own apiaries.
